Groundbreaking of biomass power plant

Chofu Seisakusho Co., LTD., Japan Petroleum Exploration Co., LTD., Tokyo Energy & Systems INC., MOT Research Institute LTD. and Kawasaki Kinkai Kisen Co., LTD. (hereinafter, the "5 Companies") announce that a groundbreaking ceremony of the Chofu biomass power plant (hereinafter, the "Plant") that Chofu Bio Power LLC. (hereinafter, the "CBP") invested by the 5 Companies moves forward with this project as an organizer was held on July 6th 2022.
Hereafter, a foundation construction is going to proceed, and a construction of the Plant's main body is going to start around April 2023. In addition, a scheduled date of starting the Plant's operation is January 2025.
The Plant's outlet capacity is 74,950 kW by adopting 100% of wood pellet fuel. A construction of this dedicated biomass power plant was determined on September 2021 by the CBP. The Chofu estimates that an annual total amount of the electric power selling is going to be approx. 520 million kWh by utilizing the Feed in Tariff. Moreover, all of this electric power is going to be sold to Chugoku Electric Power Transmission & Distribution Co., Inc.
Also, the construction and the organization of the Plant is going to proceed by the CBP as the main body. The 5 companies are going to conduct following affairs depending on each strength, in accordance with requests from the CBP.
･An administration of the Plant's construction
･An operation and a maintenance after the start of Plant's operation
･A procurement and a transit of the wood pellet fuel
Furthermore, the 5 companies are providing cooperations and assists toward the CBP in terms of a relationship-building and maintaining with the administration and a neighborhood toward the CBP.
The Chofu with each invested company and the CBP efforts a spread of eco-friendly electricity made by renewable energy and a contribution for development of the neighborhood economy through receiving understandings and assists from everyone in the Shimonoseki region.
